The upcoming BMW X7 is traveling throughout the US with just a few weeks before its market debut. Several X7 models are being showcased by local BMW dealers to potential customers and one of those ended up in New York City at BMW of Manhattan. To promote the largest BMW SUV ever, the folks in NYC decided to head into the beautiful Manhattan and its boroughs for a photoshoot.
In the United States, the X7 will set you back at least $74,895 when it goes on sale next year. That includes the shipping and handling tax and will get you the entry-level xDrive40i model, with its 3-liter straight six petrol engine and 340 HP. If you want a V8 under the hood, you’ll have to pay considerably more – $93,595. That also includes handling and shipping and means you can have your BMW X7 xDrive50i with 456 HP and 650 Nm of torque (479 lb-ft).
The color palette for the new X7 is quite extensive and intriguing. Of course, you have your classic Alpine White and Black Sapphire Metallic, along with the new Vermont Bronze Metallic and Carbon Black Metallic.
Inside, you’re getting a variation of different upholsteries – SensaTec Black, nine premium Vernasca and Extended Merino Leathers (in the X7 xDrive40i for the US market). The two-tone Ivory White/Navy Blue Full Leather Merino interior, with a Navy Blue leather dashboard and a Navy Blue Alcantara headliner, can be specified for some models.
Lots of packages are also available for the new X7, from the Cold Weather Package, Dynamic Handling Package, Luxury Seating Package, Off-road Package, Premium Package and Executive Package.
BMW X7 is designed to be the massive, uber luxurious, seven-passenger SUV for the upper-class families that want luxury but need space. It looks the part, being both imposing and sophisticated, it has a superbly finished and hugely capacious interior and all of the performance and handling chops anyone could ever ask of such a large vehicle.
We will get the chance to drive the car next month, so stay tuned for our first driving impressions.
