2019 Chicago World of Wheels: Brings Out the Shine

The 2019 Chicago World of Wheels brings out the entire range of cool cars and trucks.

Early March is not usually a good time for Gearheads in the Midwest, except when it’s time for the World of Wheels car show. The Chicago World of Wheels took place March 8 to 10 at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont, Illinois next to O’Hare airport.

The show was brimming full of virtually any sort of car you could imagine, from high end custom cars to a Conours-quality restorations. Among the attendees were two Ridler Award winning cars: the Cadillac Wagon from this year and the 1957 Chevrolet Bel-Air from last year.  For the restoration crowd, it was impossible to find a flaw with a 1970 Dodge Coronet R/T we spent time studying. The show really does have it all.

Upon entering the show, you were immediately greeted by some of the finest custom cars, of all makes and models. Right up front was the 2019 Ridler Winner- Cadillac Wagon or “Cadmad”, and it just went on from there. You could not turn your head and not see some sort of award-winning car.

Navigating the halls, there was something for everyone: fully restored cars, throwback hot rods, street rods and more. The main halls were mainly populated with the Restored and Custom cars. There was an entire hall just for motorcycles, and in the back,a number of car clubs displayed all varieties of customs and home-built rides.
