Rugged Brabus Mercedes S-Class With 887 HP Would Be Wonderfully Absurd

What do you call an off-road version of a Brabus-tuned Mercedes S-Class? A figment of the imagination, for starters. But if you want to play around with the idea, you should try naming it something truly outlandish to reflect its nature.

Even the real thing is pretty ridiculous as far as performance is concerned. In Brabus 900 spec, the S-Class’ 6.0-liter twin turbo V12 engine 900 PS (887 HP) and 1,500 Nm (1,106 lb-ft) of torque.

That’s enough to take you from zero to 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 3.7 seconds, before you max out at 350 km/h (217 mph), which is faster than not a few supercars.

If you’re a Russian oligarch or if your name holds the nouns ‘Prince’ or ‘King’, we actually wouldn’t be surprised if a vehicle similar to this rendering by Oleg Oscar ever made its way into your massive car garage. It would actually make for a pretty special project, even though the S-Class’ ultra-smooth ride would undoubtedly be kaput, given the lift kit and the large gigantic tires.

At the same time, the car would remain just as comfortable and luxurious to sit in as before, which is what we call finding a silver lining.

As if this car wasn’t already strange enough, we don’t really know what to make of those two spare tires at the rear. The designer appears to suggest that they’re somehow attached to the back of the Benz, but unfortunately we don’t get to see in what way.
