Spotted earlier today, the high-performance model follows in the footsteps of the standard coupe but adopts a more aggressive design. While the front end largely carries over, the prototype has a revised hood that features NACA ducts. It’s believed these will direct air to the high-performance braking system that features yellow calipers.
Moving further back, the car has rear window louvers that could be used for cooling the car’s six-cylinder engine. We can also see a massive rear wing that is substantially larger than the one used on the Cayman GT4.
How much more remains the million dollar question, but the company has previously said they want to keep some distance between the Cayman GT4 and the upcoming 911 GT3 which is rumored to have around 513 hp (382 kW / 520 PS).
Considering the standard Cayman GT4 has 414 hp (309 kW / 420 PS, it’s possible the RS variant could have around 444 hp (330 kW / 450 PS). That’s just speculation at this point, but it would allow the car to sit comfortably between Cayman GT4 and 911 GT3.
Regardless of the final numbers, the Cayman GT4 RS should be an absolute blast as it will undoubtedly be lighter than more powerful than the standard model which can accelerate from 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) in 4.4 seconds and hit a top speed of 189 mph (304 km/h).
Unfortunately, we’re probably in for a wait as the car isn’t expected to be unveiled until the middle of next year at the earliest.
