The 2020 Juke was also designed and engineered entirely in Britain, with the automaker’s European design and R&D teams in Paddington, London and Cranfield, Bedfordshire handling the development stage. According to Nissan, 70% of Juke production will be for EU markets.

Ten million vehicles later, Sunderland is the biggest UK car plant in history and the all-new Juke is the most connected Nissan car. With more than 35,000 jobs supported by Nissan in the UK, I would like to thank our experienced and skilled teams in Paddington, Cranfield and Sunderland, and our wider supply base, for their efforts in bringing this all-new model to life,” stated Nissan Europe chairman, Gianluca de Ficchy.
It also took more than 5,000 hours of staff training, not to mention new investment upgrades to produce the Juke’s suite of advanced technology, and high levels of personalization.
In fact, the 2020 Juke is Nissan’s most connected car ever, featuring In-car NissanConnect, 8-inch touchscreen display, in-car WiFi hotspot and voice recognition and more. Meanwhile, the automaker’s ProPILOT technology brings with it assisted steering, acceleration and braking, and is aimed at highway use in single-lane traffic.
“We are thrilled to see the Juke in production. Our million Juke fans across Europe will be able to see it on the roads very soon. Juke is a big part of our plant’s heritage, so it is a proud moment to see the new model rolling off the line,” added Nissan exec Steve Marsh.
European sales for the all-new Juke are scheduled to commence at the end of November.
