Selected writings on history and historiography

The history of science from antiquity and from humanism to modern times was a field significantly shaped by Momigliano. With twelve essays from the years 1947 - 1977, this volume gives a cross-section of Momigliano's work on the historiography of late antiquity up to the Enlightenment, starting with Cassiodorus in Italy in the 6th century to Edward Gibbon at the end of the Enlightenment age.
