Replies with embedded comments in the original message body

When replying to email messages in Outlook, it is sometimes quicker and easier to type your replies in addition to the instructions in the body of the original message.

Enable inline comments

  1. click on file > Options.

  2. Click in the left pane e-mail.

  3. Activate in the right pane under Answers and redirects check box Prefix for commentsand enter the text you want to use to mark your comments.

    Tip: This text appears in square brackets when you reply using embedded comments in the body of the original message.

Add inline comments to a message

  • Open a received message, and then click reply.

  • Click the body of the original message, and then start typing your comments.

Note: It's a good idea to let the recipients of your message know that your comments can be read in the original message.

Enable inline comments and create identifying text

  1. Do you click in the menu Extras on Options.

  2. click on the Settings tab Email options.

  3. Activate check box Mark comments with, and then enter the text you want to use to identify your comments. This text appears in parentheses when you reply to a message using inline comments.

Add inline comments to a message

  1. Open a received message, and then click reply.

  2. Click the body of the original message, and then start typing your comments.
